Jasneet Sharma is the Director of Sustainability Department with the County of San Mateo where she provides leadership in implementing sustainability goals, policies and projects for the County. She recently led efforts for the County to adopt a Sustainability Master Plan that lays out the vision and road map for the County to reduce climate pollution, adapt to a changing global climate, enhance natural resources and the environment, foster a prosperous and just economy, and meeting the needs of current and future generations to ensure all people have equitable opportunities to reach their full potential. She's also lead the Sea Change SMC and Climate Ready SMC initiatives to build resiliency to climate related risks and build networks for collective action on climate solutions and the Get Healthy SMC Initiative to build healthy, equitable communities. Jasneet is a trained architect and urban planner, has extensive experience working in both academia and local governments and has lead a number of research, policy and community-based initiatives on sustainable land use and food systems, health policy and planning, smart growth, and climate change.
