After nearly a decade of planning and construction, San Francisco City College will open a brand-new campus in Chinatown this spring. The new 193,000-square-foot campus consists of two buildings on Kearny and Washington. Join Jennifer Devlin, Wayne Barcelon and Andy Sohn from joint-venture architecture firms EHDD and Barcelon & Jang as they give an inside view of the construction project. On the tour, we will see the project in the final stages of construction. The 14-story “vertical campus” features a dense academic program of classrooms, laboratories, faculty suites, a multi-purpose room and a library. The 4-story annex features culinary teaching kitchens, a café and a 200-seat auditorium. Both buildings incorporate many sustainable design strategies, including extensive use of daylight through light shelves and digital controls. $10. Limited to 25 people. ϴmembers only.
