As we approach the November election for Mayor of San Jose, local communities working in the Food Access System, such as Urban Gardeners/Farmers, climate crisis advocates, urban planners, and water managers, are organizing a Mayoral Forum .
In this forum the San Jose Mayoral candidates: Cindy Chavez and Matt Mahan will have the opportunity to share their Environmental agenda and hear from these communities.
Some questions we hope to address are:
- How are they going to support an Ecological Sustainability and Climate Mitigation plan
- What is their work plan to honor Food Sovereignty in San Jose?
- Will someone in the new administration鈥檚 team be advocating for these issues on the Food Policy Councils at City Hall?
- What is their position on policies in Urban Ag Zone Incentive programs to bring more community gardens or farms to San Jose?
